Vintage Wine release; 2017 Mount Edward Pinot Noir
A vintage wine for our cellar club, limited 24 bottle release, first in first served.
Vintage 2017, A growing season that saw some off the most plush wines Central Otago has ever produced. The vineyard after a cool spring produced bunches with small grapes, which then after a hot summer and cool autumn produced wines with lots of concentration however with very little tannin.
The wines were full and rich yet soft and plush from the outset with light structure. A little age has seen these wines develop ahead of wines with more developed tannins, allowing savoury spicy flavours to develop earlier.
Palate wise fruits have evolved maintaining a richer fruit style and adding spice, like a good Christmas cake :) Perfect for those who like reds at the heavier end but without too much tannin or structure. Bigger styled with elegance and charm, plush with maturity now.
