Wine tastings are curated to your preferences and offer something for everyone, regardless of taste, experience or style.

Our Cuisine is tapas based, smaller plate offerings; using New Zealand ingredients to match the tastes of our wine.

Tapas are available as part of a matched menu or as individual plates.

Cellar Door

Our cellar door is in Gibbston Valley, 30 mins from Queenstown, bookings are encouraged. Open daily 11-5pm.

Trust the chef and combine a wine tasting experience with a series of tapas specifically matched to our wines. A total experience of up to 7 courses. Perfect over lunchtime or for a long grazing experience.

What to choose ?

Our CELLAR DOOR tastings allows you to taste wines from across our extensive range, all current releases are available, the ideal introduction to wines from Mount Edward. Try new varietals and styles.

Our LIBRARY tastings include older vintages, pairings and one-off library releases, Riesling to Pinot Noir, new versus aged, limited edition wines and all ex cellar. It also includes our range of Avant-garde wines which look at NZ and Central Otago firsts or allows you to simply concentrate eon our regions’ most famous variety, Pinot Noir by tasting across our premium single-vineyard releases, estate classics and vintage-worthy wines.

Sunday Sessions

Sunday Sessions is our monthly live music afternoon on the last Sunday of each month, featuring rotating acts and special pours. Booking a spot is encouraged, once booked, the table is yours for the afternoon .

The Mount Edward Experience

Tastings are bespoke; they range from $45 for the Cellar Door or Varietals and styles tasting, to $75 for our Library, Avant-garde or Just Pinot Noir tastings.

Our Wine & Food matched experience is $110 pp.

All our wines are 100% organic, naturally grown at our estate-owned, regeneratively farmed vineyards, here in Central Otago.

We have four single vineyards, producing premium Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs, our estate Pinot Noir plus classic whites including Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris.

More unique varietals such as Gamay, Gruner, Chenin and Pinot Blanc and as well as innovative styles of these including sparkling Pet Nats, Orange wine, and a number of firsts such as Vermouth, XO brandy and oxidised Chenin.

We have a wine cellar onsite aging all these wines that allow us access to library wines and special releases.

We offer tasting options for those not trying wines; our menu, whilst set, covers vegetarian, vegan, nga and non-dairy allergies.

We run a series of events at Mount Edward, from music at our Sunday Sessions, to Club events, to set menu food days, workshops and more.

This is THE one to go to! If you visit any cellar door in Queenstown, this must be the first! The location is outstanding with the most beautiful view. The wines are simply exquisite and the variety of wines to taste superb. The range of wines is also excellent for a small vineyard.
The food that is served is of exceptional quality and variety with something to suit all. I have to recommend the fried brussels though – yum yum.
Finally as to the staff – what a lovely friendly bunch of people where nothing is too much trouble!
